Other ideas and seasonal topics for employee newsletters in November

Giving back: Your November newsletter is a perfect time to shine a light on the power of giving back (Giving Tuesday takes place on November 28)! Showcase charitable activities, volunteer opportunities, or company initiatives that allow employees to make a positive impact in their communities.

Health and wellness tips: As the days get cooler and shorter, it’s essential to keep our physical and mental well-being a priority! Consider including a section where you can share tips for staying healthy and stress-free during the holiday season, including advice on maintaining a balanced diet, managing stress, and getting active. Keep your employees feeling their best as we enter the colder months!

Fall fun and festivities: Embrace the fall season by bringing some autumn cheer into the workplace! Share a community calendar with fall-themed events or outings that are happening in and around your community!

Bonus: With a tool like Workshop, you can segment your internal audiences and send your employees personalized events based on your employees’ location!

Q4 goals & objectives: Keep your employees updated with how the team is tracking with Q4 goals, or use your newsletter to course-correct if the company isn’t entirely on track (so you can ensure you finish the year hitting your goals and KPIs)!

Employee milestones: With the end of Q4 quickly approaching, what better time to recognize and celebrate the achievements of your colleagues and team? Consider including a section that showcases work anniversaries, goals, and other significant milestones that employees have reached. It’s an easy lift and a great way to show appreciation for your team!

Employee newsletter tips & tricks

  • Create a branded experience: If you want to engage your employees via email, create a branded experience! An easy place to start is with your template design. Take a little extra care in how your information is laid out, the colors you’re using, your imagery, etc.. If you can match and reflect the company brand as much as possible, that’s where you get that “mixternal” win, that internal and external brand coming together.
  • Visual Storytelling: Incorporate visuals like images, GIFs, and videos to make your newsletter visually appealing and more engaging.
  • Track the results of your emails: When it comes to improving your internal communications strategy, knowing the effectiveness of your internal emails is key! Measure your clicks, open rates, and which employees have (and haven’t read your email) to adjust your strategy and increase engagement. (You can do all this and more with a tool like Workshop.)
  • Use internal newsletter software: A platform like Workshop allows you to create beautifully designed emails, personalize your content (and audiences!), and measure the effectiveness of your campaigns through various analytics.
