Journeys | Create automated email sequences for birthdays, anniversaries, events & more

Journeys help you send the right note at the right moment — without rebuilding the same emails or chasing lists. Set up a simple sequence once, and Workshop takes care of timing, enrollment, and tracking. No IT tickets, no calendar gymnastics!

What’s new

• Two flexible triggers. Start a Journey by (1) enrolling recipients yourself (great for one-time series like event reminders) or (2) using list membership to auto-enroll people when they join a list (perfect for birthdays, hire dates, or open enrollment).

• Simple steps to build timing. Add in your delays (time of day or specific date) and automated emails to map your series, then review & start it! (By default, we don’t send on weekends—you can toggle that!)

• Clear ownership & permissions. Only users with publishing permissions can start a Journey. You’ll see status, campaign, owner, and sharing at a glance in the Journeys index. 🙂

• Analytics that roll up where you need them. Automated emails roll up engagement over time; to see the big picture of a sequence, attach your Journey to a Campaign (and now you can tag one email to multiple campaigns for cleaner reporting).

• Works with every list type. Use Manual/CSV, Synced (AD/Okta/Google groups), or Automatic HRIS-driven lists. Automatic lists enroll people instantly after our nightly HRIS sync (Premium); Synced lists update after each directory sync (Essential, Enhanced, Premium).

Availability & plan notes

Journeys work with manual and list-based enrollment across plans. Automatic Lists (nightly HRIS sync and instant enrollment) are available on Premium; Synced Lists work on Essential, Enhanced, and Premium.

Notes & current limitations

• Journeys send emails today (additional step types are on our roadmap).

• Timezone targeting and blackout dates aren’t built in yet; you can create regional Journeys and adjust waits to match local time.

• Editing active Journeys: clone to make structural changes; delete/stop the original if you need to pause sends.
