Make AI work your way with repeatable skills

Jamie Bell

A Workshop product screenshot showing the Cici chat interface with a Skills picker open on the left, listing recent skills including Skill creator, Weekly comms report, Send time optimizer, Comms planner (selected), and Employee sentiment. An arrow points from two skill cards — "Weekly comms report" and "Comms planner" — into a chat input reading "Cici, use [Weekly comms report] and [Comms planner] and give me the full rundown," with an Actions button and send arrow below.

Some tasks you do the same way every single time. The pre-send check. The monthly comms plan. The “does this actually read okay on a phone” review. You know the steps by heart — you just have to do them, over and over, from scratch.

Skills change that. A skill is a reusable set of instructions you save once and run whenever you need it. It gives Cici, our AI agent, a reliable playbook for a specific task: what to consider, which steps to follow, and how the finished result should look. Build it once, then it’s a click away forever.

What’s new

  • A new AI tab in your top nav. This is home base for skills — where you’ll browse, run, and build them (and where more AI features will live down the road).
  • A skills library, ready out of the box. Start with Workshop-built skills organized by category — Content, Planning, Reporting, and Review — so you’re not staring at a blank page. Most teams start with one and adjust from there.
  • My Skills and All Skills. “My Skills” holds the ones you create. “All Skills” holds everything built by your company plus the Workshop library, so your team’s best practices live in one shared place.
  • Build your own in minutes. Name it, describe the task the way you want it done, write the instructions — done. Not sure how to phrase it? Cici can help you draft the perfect set of instructions. (It even auto-generates a little logo based on your description.)
  • Run it from anywhere. Trigger any skill right inside Cici chat with a “/” command or the Actions menu. No remembering the “right way” to prompt — the everyday work becomes a single, quick command.
  • Reference your real work with @. Pull a specific email, campaign, or list into the conversation so your skill runs against exactly what you’re working on.
  • Shared by default. Build a skill once and everyone on your team can run it. Your best practices stop living in one person’s head, and better comms spread across the whole company.

A few of our go-to skills

You don’t have to start from scratch — most teams begin with one of these:

  • Pre-send check — One last look before you hit send: spelling, broken links, clarity, tone, and anything that might trip up engagement. Best part? Cici won’t just flag the errors, it’ll fix them for you.
  • Mobile design review — See how your email reads on a phone and fix what breaks on a small screen before your employees ever notice.
  • Channel remix — Take one announcement and adapt it for email, Slack, Teams, intranet, and digital signage in one go.
  • Monthly comms plan — Map out next month’s sends and catch the pile-up days before an audience gets buried (or skipped entirely).
  • List clean-up — Find the duplicate and stale lists dragging down your targeting, plus the segments that overlap when they shouldn’t.
  • Comms audit — Review your send frequency, topics, and audience overlap to spot fatigue, gaps, and redundancy.

Plus dozens more in the library — or create your own.

When to build a Skill

If you complete the same task even two or three times, that’s a perfect candidate. Skills especially shine for anything that follows a pattern: reviews, checklists, recaps, reformatting, and the work you like done a certain way every time.

  • Expert-level work, without the expert on call. The instructions are baked in, so anyone on your team can run an accessibility review or a brand check and get the same quality result — every time.
  • Hours back in your week. Skills handle the repeatable work so your time goes to the comms that really need you. It’s the easiest way to get the “order taker” tasks off your plate.
  • Consistency your team can count on. Shared Skills standardize the process, tone, and format that matter, so quality doesn’t depend on who happens to be doing the task that day.

Your data stays yours

A skill only uses the data, access, and permissions the person running it already has — it never opens up anything you couldn’t see otherwise. When you run a skill, that chat is private to you. The skill itself can be shared with your team, but your inputs and outputs stay yours.

Availability

Skills are live today for every Workshop account — included on every plan, for every user, with no add-on and no upgrade. Just head to the new AI tab to get started.

As a note: Content skills perform best in the modern editor, where Cici lives right alongside your work. Skills will still technically work on the legacy editor, but it will not make changes or edits to an email for you.

Skills are the first step toward a much more powerful AI roadmap. There’s more on the way — but for now, pick a task you do all the time, and let Cici take it from here.
