Workshop launches National Internal Comms Day on April 23
A new annual moment designed to celebrate (and spotlight) the people behind internal communication
OMAHA, NE — April 8, 2026 — Workshop, the internal communications platform built for modern teams, is introducing National Internal Comms Day, a new annual moment dedicated to recognizing internal communicators — and inviting the broader industry to celebrate them, together.
The first celebration will take place on April 23, 2026, with a social-first campaign designed to bring visibility to a role that often operates behind the scenes.
At the center of the launch is a simple idea: give internal communicators their flowers.
To mark the occasion, Workshop will send flowers to 150 internal comms leaders across the country and invite professionals everywhere to participate by sharing their stories, shoutouts, and reflections on LinkedIn using #InternalCommsDay.
The goal is to create a visible, collective moment where the people who spend their time amplifying others finally get recognized in return.
“Internal communicators are so often the ones making everything else work,” said Devin Owens, Communications Manager at Workshop. “They shape how companies connect, how teams stay aligned, and how people experience their work day to day. This is a moment to recognize that impact in a way that feels visible and shared.”
Turning recognition into a shared moment
Internal communicators play a central role in shaping company culture, guiding change, and helping leaders communicate clearly. But much of that work happens quietly, without recognition.
National Internal Comms Day is designed to change that — not just through a single campaign, but by creating a repeatable moment the industry can build on each year.
Participants are encouraged to use April 23 as a chance to:
- Recognize a teammate or leader in internal comms
- Share a moment they’re proud of
- Reflect on the role internal communications plays inside their organization
The campaign is intentionally simple and social by design, making it easy for teams and individuals to participate in a way that feels authentic to them.
“This is about creating a moment that belongs to the community,” Owens added. “Something people can take part in, shape, and carry forward.”
Building an annual tradition
Workshop plans to grow National Internal Comms Day into an annual industry-wide moment — one that continues to elevate the role of internal communications and the people behind it.
As organizations place increasing importance on employee experience, alignment, and communication, the company sees this as an opportunity to bring more visibility to the function and the professionals leading it.
